Parenting can be exhausting. If you were to Google books on children, parenting, and everything associated, you would find the search engine littered with information, suggestions, and references to help you. It is harder being a parent today than ever before. The pressure one feels is insurmountable. I guess that is why I think it is important to warn parents, especially mothers who think they have to do it all, and do it well. This in of it itself, is just nonsense. It is ok to feel overwhelmed; it is ok to say enough is enough, and it ok to talk about it.
So why doesn’t anyone mention the agony we suffer, the uncomfortable moments we relive from our school days through our children and the uncertainty we face with each decision we are forced to make? When your ready to have children someone should sit you down and simple let you know the reality of parenting; the unending worry you will feel for the rest of your life. Why doesn’t anyone, tell us of the expectations that will be thrust upon us by society and the government? Is there some special parenting club I failed to join that keeps you from being afraid of making the wrong choices?
Whatever the answers may be, it is important to understand that it is ok to have these feelings. There is a reason for these trials of parenting, the lessons we all learn, and even the great pleasures that we will share. You will discover the answers eventually and all will be revealed to you all in due time. Like any good story you have to wait for the story to unfold to be able to appreciate the ending.
