This book transported me instantly into island time. I can feel the languid tropical breezes and a distinct hankering for a Margarita. Valerie captures the island hopping culture of the chartered yacht beatniks to a T.

An engrossing delightful read that holds your interest. Finished it in 2 days and wanted more!! Who of us wouldn't want to live the carefree life of Sand for awhile? Or maybe forever.... To sail and swim in turquoise seas...paint and love and loss....does it get any better than that?

Valerie Marcley has an ear for nuance and and eye for beauty, and both are clearly present in this lovely island breeze of a book. Chapters of light-filled romance mixed with those chronicling the skill it takes to sail make for a compelling read. And characters that are real and funny and warm become the ropes that take you through the book. A high recommend for anyone interested in love, strong woman and the sea--and especially for those readers interested in all three.
