Notes From Your Bookseller

The clock is ticking against our dear detective Alex Cross and it’s all hands on deck to ensure that he defies the title of the book. And to make it even more tense, the whole Cross family is involved!

“One of the greatest fictional detectives of all time” (Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child) is in the sights of the Dead Hours Killer, a serial murderer on a ruthless mission.

An airport killer targeting pilots expands his scope.*Alex Cross Must Die.

“Drop*whatever you're doing, Detective Cross, and head to*Reagan*Airport,”*DC Metro Police dispatch says.*“A*jet*just crashed and exploded on the runway. The chief and the FBI want you and John Sampson there pronto.”

Cross and Sampson race to the crash site.*The plane didn't fail-it was shot down by a stolen Vietnam War-era machine gun.*

The list of experts who can operate the weapon is short. And time before another lethal strike runs even shorter. Especially for Detective Cross.*

Editorial Reviews

DECEMBER 2023 - AudioFile

Fans of James Patterson will no doubt appreciate the latest installment in the Alex Cross series. A cast of thousands (OK, 7) take on roles that range from good cops to killers, spouses, and family members in what sounds like a made-for-TV drama. Wayne Carr does an excellent job portraying the gravitas, intellect, and humanity of Cross. Kiff VandenHeuvel serves double duty as a beleaguered police captain who is investigating the latest horrific crime, as well as the terrorist behind it. And special mention must be made for the work of Jim Meskimen, who employs a thick brogue to portray an old, infirm, but still deadly killer. Each performer brings a unique take to their role, which makes for an entertaining listen as Cross tracks down not one, but two, killers. J.P.S. © AudioFile 2023, Portland, Maine
