Overview

Alejandro is a thoroughbred racehorse who has won many races, but he is getting older and can no longer run as fast as he once could. He dreams of the new life he will have when he is no longer racing.
The day finally arrives for Alejandro to leave the track where he is sold to the highest bidder. Alejandro finds himself in a feedlot where he must face the biggest race of his life.
Through Alejandro's journey, he discovers that dreams do come true, but sometimes there are big challenges to overcome first.

About the Author

Michelle Minor-Smith was born and resides within a small farming community in Illinois. Throughout her youth, she spent every available moment with her horses. Her first job was at the former Quad City Downs racetrack where she developed a passion for horseracing and the Standardbreds in her care.
She continues to reside on a small farm in her hometown where she and her husband raise, train, and show their off-track thoroughbreds. To her husband’s dismay, Michelle had a soft spot in her heart for those heroes of the track, including her favorite horse, Bootsontheground. Michelle is a member of the AQHA, APHA, and the Retired Racehorse Project.
