Overview

Aldar is a young adult Icelandic elf. Aldar's life is made miserable when his cousin Bofi moves in with his family to escape a lava flow that threatens his home in another part of Iceland. To escape Bofi's practical jokes, Aldar stows away in a backpack of an American tourist family. When ten year old Edwin returns from school and starts to cry in his room, Aldar reveals himself in an attempt to find the reason for Edwin's unhappiness. Poor Edwin is the unfortunate victim of bullying at school, and it is ruining is life. Aldar disguises himself as a fellow 6th grader and sets about to help Edwin. In the process Aldar enjoys exploring the differences between life in America and his elf village in Iceland.

Dotty Anderson is the grandmother of five school age boys. She holds a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She lives with her husband in Placerville, California. She has traveled extensively. After a trip to Iceland she was inspired to write "Aldar Visits America" and "Adlar and the Leprechauns." The stories she writes are intended to both entertain and educate.
