Air Force Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures AFTTP 3-32.33, Volume 1 Expedient Hygiene, Water, and Waste Methods
This United States Air Force manual, Air Force Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures AFTTP 3-32.33, Volume 1 Expedient Hygiene, Water, and Waste Methods, addresses field expedient construction or repair methods for sanitation and hygiene facilities, wastewater, and solid waste systems when time and materials are limited, or when conventional methods are impractical to employ. It does not address the installation of standard contingency hygiene, water, and waste systems such as Basic Expeditionary Airfield Resources (BEAR). For the purpose of this document, expedient is "a means devised or employed in a time and place where prompt action is essential." Expedient engineering does not preclude using normal engineer practices where time and materials are available. This publication contains illustrations of basic material applications and proven construction methods during field applications. Any data and definitions presented are general in nature and serve as field guides.
