The book looks at the perspective of the afterlife from two perspectives, the Christian and the non Christian view which is what makes it such an important piece of work as it is not one sided as so many other books are. Needless to say that the hypothesis is presented then the factors examined and at the end of it all a choice is made as to which is the correct set of principles to go with. One could almost say that it is the process and results of an experiment conducted by these two.

For any individual that is either studying religions or just trying to find out what they should have faith in it is a great thing to read through and pose your own questions. As one reads one has a wish that the text could go on forever as it is so insight. The topic is a tricky one and the authors are more than aware of this and remain as objective as they possibly can throughout.

This one by far was the most challenging and exciting to date. The topic of the afterlife is a rather controversial one as there are so many opinions on the matter that it has to be handled with care. These authors ensure that they do this and instead opt to prevent the views from more than one angle which leads up to a conclusion in support of one.

They are aware that this will not be well received by those that are firm in their beliefs but think that it is great way to learn a bit of history about where this thing all started and how these points of view came to the fore in the first place. We are all products of what we have assimilated over the years so why not learn a bit more from this. It might have the effect of strengthen your own view or spark some questions that you can seek to have answered. These authors are taking us on a journey filled with the mystery and wonder of beliefs.
