About the Author

Leslie (Les) Davies was born and raised in the green, green valleys of South Wales, UK. He is married and a parent of two adult sons, one granddaughter and four grandsons.
He spent the first five and a half years of his working life between college and about a thousand feet underground receiving training in Mechanical Engineering. When the coal mines in Wales faced closure he spent a short time in a Ford car factory before taking his wife and baby son to Zambia where he worked in a copper mine; his younger son was born in Zambia. Returning to the UK five years later he worked in a steelworks for nine years; retraining in instrument engineering. He migrated to Australia, with his family, as an instrumentation engineer where they have lived for the last 47 years.
He has had four short stories published in various anthologies; one in July 2020 by "Chicken Soup for the Soul" in their anthology "The Magic of Cats". He has had many pieces of flash fiction, poems and short stories published in assorted magazines.
