Once a demon gets a scent, it's for life.

Jacko runs away from home because he can no longer stand his father whom he blames for the death of his mother.

At first, it's exciting to be on a road trip, and have alone time to think. Unfortunately, his excitement turns to fear when he is violently attacked by a psychotic at a diner outside of Reno.

The event shakes him up, emotionally, causing him to accidentally flip into another world, where he attracts the attention of a black-skinned demon; otherwise known as a hunter from the red lands - heavens red skied, dark counterpart.

An exciting first in a trilogy about a kid who goes on an epic adventure. Try leaping worlds in the belly of a cherub, or go fishing in heaven with gods. Find out what really happened to Narcissus, and the Fountain of Youth.

King County, State Book Fair, has awarded it a blue ribbon, calling it "the most entertaining story [they've] read all year. Kids will love the degree of imagination that Ott uses to tell the story, in a way that hasn't been seen in years."

Ott has been writing children and teen literature for years, with her most notable work being Funk's the Chocolate Loving Vamp and
award-winning Maternal Absence.

About the Author

Jamie Ott began creative writing at a young age, but went into the field of accounting. Although she loved writing, Jamie always saw herself helping others through her natural ability to organize and guide; that and an ability for office procedure and accounting law enabled her to achieve success among peers. After graduating from college with a degree in accounting, she spent ten years pursuing her chosen career.

Throughout the years, she never gave up her first love and talent. Jamie continued to write fantasy fiction meant to inspire the imagination of youth and young adults. "Work is all we do, so I like to encourage minds to play," she says. A quote perfectly exampled in her recent short novel-trilogy, Jacko Conjurer. "After the release [2010] of [her first young adult novel] Maternal Absence, I wanted to write something exciting."

When her first novel, Maternal Absence, was published, Jamie was, further, inspired to return to school. Now, married and at thirty-two years of age, she continues to write fiction while pursuing a second bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis in technical and professional writing. Not only does she want to broaden her writing experience, but she hopes to remind young adults not to forget their dreams.
