Overview

At the advanced levels of learning Arabic, a common course option is "Media Arabic." In this class, students continue to practice and acquire more language skills by reading (primarily) and listening to various Arabic media. This book fulfills the need for a textbook and the core materials for such a course. The very successful first edition has been updated in a variety of ways, including:
- new texts and audio for each module, including radio as well as TV materials;
- a new module on "The Language of Revolutions" and another on "Language and Culture" (modules 8 and 10);
- new and more extensive exercises;
- new audio and vocabulary lists; and
- updated, color design for the interior
There are 13 modules, covering key areas in Arabic media (i.e., diplomacy, elections, etc.), all instructions in Arabic (as is appropriate for advanced learners). The book includes appendices with an answer key, transcribed listening passages, free audio (to be posted to GUP website) to accompany the book.
