Overview

Written from the point of view of the best, and the worst, of myself, I created this collection of poetry through the years following the unfair acts that occurred against me. The persona I created is strong and powerful, daring yet confident, the person who I wish I was and could be. Rather than allowing myself to break following the abuse I suffered through, I wanted to turn it into something beautiful and empowering that others who went through the same, or different cruelties could relate to. I leave you with one last thought and reminder: One day, your abuser will die.

About the Author

I'm a 22-year-old student who's been writing poetry since I was in elementary school, though then it probably wasn't very good. I'm inspired by my grandmother who raised me and celebrated my poetry, even if it was a little too dark for her liking. I love writing, cooking, being in nature, and spending time with my family. This is my first work of poetry, and soon my first work of fiction will be available.
