Overview

"Abuse" is a story about fifteen-year-old Chrissie York who lives with her brother, Park in Montgomery, Alabama. Chrissie lives a typical life - she goes to school, attends church every Sunday, and has a best friend; except, Chrissie's and Park's parents abandoned them.
Park embraces his freedom by throwing parties every weekend with his best friend, Drew. When one party gets out of hand, Chrissie's and Park's lives take a turn for the worst. Park is thrown into a whirl of turmoil, and needs help. But it is really Chrissie who needs help.
How will Chrissie survive with the most unlikely caretaker? Will she be able to help Park? As Chrissie helps a girl from school with a similar problem, will she come to grips with her own dark secret? Can she find the courage to help herself?
