Dr. Joanne Foster has a Master's degree in special education and adaptive instruction, and a Doctoral degree in human development and applied psychology (both from the University of Toronto). She is a multiple award-winning author of five books, and she has been a consultant, educator, teacher trainer, advocate, and presenter in the gifted education arena for over 30 years. Her experience and credentials provide her with a broad network of readers, and she understands-and thoughtfully responds to-parents' concerns, and the kinds of challenges that children and teens confront. Dr. Foster is not only an expert in child development with many published works, she also has extensive knowledge of reliable resources across disciplines connected to educational psychology. Christine Thammavongsa, B.A., A.O.C.A., is an illustrator, artist, author, product designer and long time gifted advocate. During three decades as a design professional applying her creative talents to home and lifestyle product, including merchandise for children, while running a home-based business and parenting a gifted daughter, she worked with dozens of well-known brands including Dora the Explorer, Peanuts, Care Bears, Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter, Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit and a parade of classic Disney characters including Mickey&Friends, Winnie-the-Pooh, Bambi, Tinker Bell and all the Princesses. Thammavongsa now focusses on original illustration projects and gallery artwork to explore her artistic vision and creativity. She also serves as the President of the Board of Directors of the Association for Bright Children of Ontario (www.ABCOntario.ca), a parent support network which represents the voice of bright and gifted children while advocating for excellence in education.
