It was the first book ever to summarize all of the games for a single videogame console. In all this book contains summaries for over 700 games and black & white screenshots accompany most of them.

About the Author

Leonard Herman is known as the “Father of Videogame
History”, as his book Phoenix was the first-ever book about the
history of videogames when it was originally published nearly
30 years ago. The book has been called the Bible of Videogame
History by many in the community. Herman has also been
dubbed “The Game Scholar” by Electronic Gaming Monthly,
which at the time was the #1 videogame magazine in the world.
He is regarded as one of the most respected videogame historians
and has written articles for Videogaming & Computer Illustrated,
Games Magazine, Electronic Gaming Monthly, the Official
U.S. PlayStation Magazine, Pocket Games, Classic Gamer
Magazine, Edge, Game Informer, Old School Gamer Magazine,
Gamespot.com and Video Game Trader. He has also contributed
articles for books including Encyclopedia Of Computer Science,
Supercade, The Video Game Explosion, Encyclopedia Of Video
Games, and Before The Crash. Herman has also written a dozen
game manuals and has appeared in several documentaries
including Icons, The King of Arcades, and Playing With Power:
