A Turn in the Roundabout
A Turn in the Roundabout is a story of a teenager who inherits an arrowhead with unique powers. This gift is believed to have originated when a female saved the life of an Indian medicine man. In return, he gave her his mystical arrowhead. Since then, this powerful arrowhead has been gifted to the first female in every generation at her seventeenth birthday. McKayla's seventeenth birthday was only days away.
Meanwhile, Jack Savage believed the arrowhead belonged to his family who had been hunting McKayla's family for generations. Finally, he discovered the whereabouts of the girl. He sent his daughter, Jade, to do his dirty work. Unknowingly, the two girls ended up alone in a primitive land with tribal people, struggling to find a way back home.
A Turn in the Roundabout is about each teenager and how each survive on their own in a place where the land and the people are strange.

About the Author

Kristie is a school psychologist with a doctorate in education (NSU in Florida). Her dissertation was “Bibliotherapy: Tolerance in Middle School.”
Prior to receiving her doctorate, she graduated from two community colleges: James Madison University and Radford University. Kristie was president of Delaware Association of School Psychologists, held workshops, and participated in National School Association of School Psychologists conventions. In the schools, she worked mostly with middle and high school students. These students have always been her passion. Kristie is an avid reader, enjoys traveling, and being one with nature. She and her husband, William, live in a small town south of Dover, Delaware. Kristie is a Virginia girl living in Delaware and has the T-shirt to prove it!
A Turn in the Roundabout came to Kristie in a dream in the form of an Indian chief. She followed up by learning about the local Nanticoke tribe and their customs and living styles. Kristie would like to thank the Nanticoke Museum in Indian River, Delaware, who offered books, models, and conversations for her research. She would also like to thank the Nanticoke tribe for opening their traditional powwows to the public. Their patriotism to our nation and our veterans is more than words can describe. Thank you. I hope I have honored your history.
