About the Author

James Clerk Maxwell was a Scottish mathematician and physicist most famous for his unification of electricity and magnetism. His work in electromagnetism, thermodynamics, classical mechanics, gas dynamics, and optics paved much of the way for 20th century physics, including Einstein's discovery of Relativity. He died in 1879.
