A Thousand Sparks of Light
Shining a light on the appalling issue of medical error, this stirring memoir, A Thousand Sparks of Light tells of one health professionals empowering story from the hospital mishap to the courtroom battle that inspired her now public crusade.

Lenore Janecek is a nationally known health care expert, author, and public speaker. In her inspiring book, Lenore tells the story of how she was diagnosed with cancer and underwent invasive surgery, only to discover, through dogged perseverance, that there was a disastrous mix-up, that was covered up.

A Thousand Sparks of Light details her ensuing story of uncovering the hospitals attempt to hide their error, and the lawsuit she undertook in order to find the facts. Along the way she shares the heartbreaking stories of others who have died or suffered as the result of preventable medical errors.

But Lenores story is much more than the legal battle, it is an intimate spiritual journey, a memoir about survival, overcoming obstacles, and fighting for oneself. Woven throughout the book are the real-time conversations that she has with her psychiatrist as she rallies to overcome the PTSD brought on by the surgery and cover-up, as well as a full account of the trial.

Alongside Lenores story, the book provides advice to alleviate medical errors happening by informing, and educating readers on how to ensure their safety. If it could happen to her, it could happen to anyone. Making a strong case for accountability and patient safety advocacy, this book is a call to action.
