Ashley falls asleep reading a book and wakes to find herself in a strange new world that looks and feels like medieval times but has elements of magic and mystery that defy description. She meets Telvar, an intriguing dwarf who has been sent to guide her to her grandfather, a man she had been told died before her mother was born. Ashley soon discovers that she has powers and abilities in this new world that threaten to destroy her unless she can learn how to control them.
As Ashley and Telvar traverse across Tellus, they find themselves battling for their lives over and over again. Nevik, an evil wizard who was once one of the king's most trusted advisors, wants the book and the power it represents. With the book, Nevik plans to control Tellus and all worlds to which the book leads. With the help of friends, both human and animal, Ashley must find a way to stop Nevik before it is too late.
