Overview

Stewardship is usually associated with money. Yet a steward is someone who cares for or manages the affairs of someone else. We are called to manage God's creation. An executor has a source document – a will or trust from the departed person to carry out their wishes. As God's stewards, our source document is the Bible – our Farmer's Almanac to use as we plant the seeds of conversion, till and fertilize the soil of our hearts and those of our parishioners so that we fulfill God's promise of salvation to the world. We will be His gardener, farmer and caretaker – depending on the size of our parish's garden or field. Stewardship is both "hard" and "heart" work. By sharing my own stewardship journey, I've tried to take the "hard" part of stewardship out of the equation, by revealing to you the "heart" plans and tools used at my parish.

Born in Germany, Mike is the second of three generations who have served in the U.S. Air Force. Mike graduated from Robinson High School in Tampa, Florida; Troy State University; and the University of the Philippines.
