About the Author

Dr. Bhaskaran Ravi Latha, MVSc, Ph.D is currently the Professor and Head of the department of Veterinary Parasitology, Madras Veterinary College, Chennai having 24 years of experience in teaching Veterinary Parasitology to Undergraduate and Postgraduate students. She has guided several MVSc and Ph.D students and has done extensive research on ticks. She has worked as Principal Investigator and Co-Principal investigator in 13 research schemes. She is the recipient of the prestigious Tamilnadu Scientists Award (TANSA award) in 2000 for her research work on the biology and bionomics of common ticks in Tamilnadu. She has developed the e-module for Veterinary Entomology and Acarology course for Undergraduate Veterinary students. She is currently working on novel and ecofriendly pheromone based methods for tick control.
