Rachel inherits the farm from her grandfather and after some soul searching, decides to move to the small town of Waverly, where she takes up residence in her grandfather's old house. The McMadden farm is a beautiful place, with lush countryside and plenty of livestock. All together it's 250 acres.
Bryce has been running the show at McMadden farms for over a decade now and doesn't take lightly to strangers messing up his way of life. Rachel wants to change the house into a bed and breakfast, which doesn't sit lightly with Bryce. He and the old man were pretty close, and he's still struggling with the old man's death at the time that Rachel shows up.
