Trouble has a way of finding those trying to avoid it. Determined to stay clear, ex-inmate Patrick Wallace still runs into it big time. Years ago, he got convicted of something he didn't do. On the heels of his release from prison, he faces false accusations once more. Just like that, his innocence is in question again.
This time around he has a little woman with massive belief in him standing by his side. After their unpromising start, Annie Bailey catches Patrick's eye. On her part, Patrick's smile makes Annie want to say yes before he asks a question.
Romance rises with danger as it becomes clear that somebody is setting Patrick up. In this instance, the intent is more sinister than a plan to put him in prison. Now the endgame is to end his life and not only his liberty. Patrick isn't going down easy, though. In fact, he doesn't plan to go down at all. His reason? A sweet schoolteacher named Annie Bailey who eased her way into his heart.
