About the Author

Joan West, Ph.D. is a writer, a former college professor, a former literary agent, who currently fills her time with her business partner, Lois Bennett, Ph.D., as publishers of Fireside Publications, a small press company with about 30 titles at this time.
West has:
written An Agent Speaks: A Primer for Unpublished Writers;
written and published a novel, Call of the Loon, set in a small town along the banks of the St. Lawrence River; and
complied and edited several short story collections, among them The Second Annual Journal of The Creative Writers Notebook and CATS (short stories about cats).
She lives in Central Florida with her husband, Glen, the moderator of a Creative Writers Group.
