Overview

This book has o? ered me an opportunity to put a few basic principles of life into simpler terms so that the very young can understand them. It has also given me the chance to use my imagination just a bit to add a little color to the circle of life. From an early age I was a thinker. I would spend many hours twisting and turning things in my mind. My third grade teacher would sometimes read my stories in class and that was my favorite time in school. I never stopped writing and I realize that many of the new places that I visit are only in my mind, fueled by imagination and understanding the meaning of what if.

About the Author

I have always thought of imagination as a part of reality. I see things every day that I have never seen before. I explore every word and gain visions of what it could be. The world is full of possibilities, and I have fun arranging imagination into words for others to enjoy. The really fun part of my life is dreaming. When growing up as a young boy, I had a smile on my face all the time. My mother’s teachings gave me an insight to not have the capacity to be negative so that everything I think and see is good. Life has always been a special blessing to me one day at a time.

CHAPTER 1

Hi, my name is Tara. I am a teardrop. Welcome to my home, which is on a cloud very high in the sky. A town was built on this beautiful cloud. The town was named Raindot in honor of the cloud.

Everything in the world has a purpose, especially tears. They provide each of us with proof of our true feelings. I was on earth until I became a tear of sadness. My special job here is to be a friend to all and to keep everyone informed.

Raindot is the temporary home for all the tears of sadness. We looked all over the world, and it was finally decided that the safest place that we could find was on a soft fluffy cloud high in the sky. This meant that no cloud could ever be better than the one that we chose. This is where we live and where we go to school.

Follow me, and I will show you our town. This is a section on one side of Raindot called Little Town. Each time a tear of sadness falls on earth, the teardrop arrives in Little Town to begin its journey through time here in Raindot. While it is in Little Town, it will learn what to expect when it moves into Raindot. Dalton and Audrey are always there to welcome the tears of sadness to Little Town.

When the teardrops leave Little Town, they will be welcomed to Raindot by many of us who have been here for a long time. We will all help the teardrops of sadness grow and learn about good things. During their stay here, they will learn about all the happiness that people need and enjoy in life on earth.

All the teardrops in Raindot are different because all people on earth are slightly different. That is good because everyone can be who they are and not like anyone else. That is like the leaves on the trees. No two leaves on any of the trees are exactly alike either.

This is the town of Raindot. The main street in town is called Happy Way. At one end of the street is a giant clock whose hands have not moved in many years. The little hand is on the 2, and the big hand is on the 10. It looked so much like a big smile when it became broken, it was never repaired. It is a happy clock.

The mayor of Raindot is Rob. He was selected to be the leader of the town because of all the good things he has done for all the teardrops. He treats everyone equal and special. He always says hello to everyone whom he meets on the sidewalk.

The Raindot Learning Library is also located on Happy Way. It is filled with the greatest of books about people who have done good things for the rest of the world. There are always lots of teardrops who are eager to learn about the special things in life.
