Barry Kolanowski, a minister, author, speaker, founder of two successful businesses and was the CEO of Senior Services of Will County, Illinois in what auditors described as a "million dollar turn around." Then at the highest point of his life, he had a stroke and had to deal with the disabilities it left behind. He knows what it feels like to be terminated from a growing business, face death, physical disability, and feelings of abandonment.
His nonprofit experience included being Regional Director, for the Safer Foundation, a prison release program and working for nearly a decade as the Regional Director of the American Cancer Society.
His most recent book, "a personal God," shares an intimate portrait of how much God wants to know the reader on a personal level, especially in a time of crisis. It answers the question as to why people keep God at arm's length and how to overcome depression by embracing a close relationship with God.
