About the Author

Sherry Frank was born in Atlanta on November 11, 1942. She graduated from Henry Grady High School and attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She has served on major boards in the Atlanta Jewish community including the Ahavath Achim Synagogue, Congregation Or Hadash, Epstein School, Weber School, Jewish Family and Career Services, Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, Friends of the Israel Defense Forces, Birthright Israel Foundation Atlanta, and the Atlanta Jewish Film Society, Inc.

While Southeast Area Director for the American Jewish Committee, she was a community activist and intergroup relations specialist and was centrally involved in a wide array of interethnic and interfaith activities.

In the general community she has served on committees of United Way, the Atlanta Regional Commission, and the Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta and was appointed to the Georgia Human Relations Commission. Sherry Frank was a member of the 1983 class of Leadership Atlanta and the 1988 YWCA Academy of Women Achievers. In addition, she was on the National Boards of the National Council of Jewish Women and MAZON, A Jewish Response to Hunger.

She is the mother of four children and eleven grandchildren and resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
