Overview

About the Author

Doris A. Hall-Gast was born in Gary, Indiana and currently lives in Michigan City Indiana. Her parents, John and Eulah Hall, were born and raised in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Kentucky. The Hall family still retains the family farm there. She spent happy time each summer in Kentucky where she would play and help on her grandfather's farm. As an adult, Doris enlisted in the United States Army for four and a half years. She served at Fort Rucker, Alabama and Darmstadt, Germany. She has worked for the past thirty-six years with the State of Indiana. Doris is the mother of five Sons and two daughters. She is the grandmother of five grandsons and five granddaughters. When she was eighteen years old, she began writing her first book, Sugar Camp, which was published in 2010 Under her Pen Name. It incorporates some of the experiences of her younger years. With this, her second book A New Tomorrow she settled on a historical book. She is now happily working on the third book in the Ellis Family Saga.
