About the Author

Hilary Self BSc, MNIMH is a Medical Herbalist and a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists. Together with her husband, they run a highly successful business - Hilton Herbs, a company that manufactures herbal health-care products for animals. Hilary is responsible for all of the company's formulations and for additional clinical research into the use of herbs for horses. As well as working in the business, Hilary runs her own herbal practice, and works with her local veterinary practice, taking clients on referral. In 2004, Hilary was presented with an award from the National Institute of Medical Herbalists for innovative projects in herbal medicine, in recognition of clinical trials she undertook into the application of herbs for horses with Cushing's disease.
Tim qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1980 and spent his first year as a qualified vet working in Ealing in West London. It was during this period he had his first brief but memorable encounter with homeopathy. In 1991, he gained his membership of the Faculty of Homeopathy and his IVAS certificate of Veterinary Acupuncture in 1999. He is co author of several books and sole author of Homeopathy for Horses published in 2007 by Kenilworth Press. He writes regularly for a number of magazines and is advisor to several companies.
