Overview

The author, Joe Simon, has combined (as he describes it) his "Quirky Art" with his new concept of mental conditioning. He refers to these novel ideas as "Intention Definitions", which are gleaned from his understanding of science, religion, and the Arts.

Intention Definitions are a specific way to mentally grasp a definitive term applied to a visual image. Allowing the mind to indulge itself in such imagery can be quite stimulating.

Joe's desire is to share his Art with the world as a tool for playful minds. Not only does it offer the opportunity to sharpen one's mind, but can also be used to relieve our minds of the day's stress. This book challenges its readers to overcome their own limiting thoughts and fears, and attempts to unlock the creative regions of the mind by offering a delightful challenge.

Chapter One

The Jetsons

Imagine you're in the future, driving your sky car home from work. There are no roads here, but there are certainly sky obstacles. Drive carefully and be friendly.

Armament

You find yourself in a war-torn country. You must traverse your way through a field of battlements and fortifications. Your objective is to escape to a safe zone. Be careful not to step on any land mines.

Balloon

You are at a festival and many balloons have been released. Something goes wrong; instead of the balloons flying high, they hang low. You may have to kick them out of the way as you walk to your destination.

Aztec

Various forms of art have made their way into cultural exchanges from every known civilization. The Aztecs have presented us with a conundrum, in this unique forum. We have failed to decipher the original intent behind this transitory visual image. Perhaps you will succeed in bringing closure to this ancient mystery.

Black Hole

Science has confirmed that these great wonders exist, and your ship is falling into one. Find your way through safely, and avoid the gravity forces.

Chain Link

Check out the bling in this chain. If you can get the knots out, you can wear it. But first you've got to get through it.

Codependent

When we find ourselves being drawn to a mate, we should carefully consider how we would reciprocate. For if we can mutually give and take, we will avoid being influenced by our reliance upon another for support. Reliance and trust evolve from belief in each other's qualities, strengths and affections. Avoid the snares of Codependents or you will have to turn to your partner to get through this maze.

Correspondence

Today's communications technologies are increasing at an exponential rate. To avoid confusion, the system you choose for yourself must be in balance with the very thing you hope to express to others. Correspondence is designed to assist you in finding the method unique to your needs.

Cornered

They say that animals are most dangerous when they have been cornered. Just keep a cool head about you on this one, and remember, it's really about the fun.

Corridor

Have you ever stumbled through the darkness, then found you were able to make your way along by some glimmer of light? Corridor's like that. You would do better if you had your night vision on.

Crazy Maze

Skeptics say there is no such thing as a parallel universe until they step into Crazy Maze. Then they have to get jiggy with it. Better get to jiggin'!

Dementia

Perhaps you should reconsider this one. Those who entered have been known to suffer from delusions, hallucinations, or have even been known to withdraw from associations. You have been warned—enter at your own risk.

Crypto

As long as there have been any written languages, man has attempted to confuse his adversaries. What you are witnessing is the cleverest written format ever conceived by man. To crack the code, you will have to discover a secret method to unravel the hidden meaning, or leave this one to the professionals.

Dragon

The great beast is obscured by the tangled mesh of vines. You must make your way through without arousing this dangerous beast.

Folklore

When things are carried to their extreme, as in the occasion of a myth, we must determine for ourselves what is real or not. Folklore is indeed unconventional. The oddness of the path demands we justify the means to the end.

Grid

There are many varied forms or shapes. Some are pleasant, others even beautiful. The Grid helps to loosen up the flow of thought and helps us to put our finger on those good ideas that we want to pin down. But beware! Don't get penned in.

Harmony

Harmony accommodates one's agreement with design and feelings. There is no discord or despondency- only the purity of dimension. Enjoy the relative relief as you meander your way through to the tantalizingly elusive ending.

Hockey

A game of stratagem and athletic prowess. Be sure your attitude is in check if you intend to score on this terrain. You will be facing off against the aggressive intention of these determined players.

Indian Map

A pathway to any destination begins with a thought or an emotion. You sense it vaguely with your mind, but the path is either too subtle or too complex to call forth the image, so you begin to scout the terrain you wish to traverse. This is the nature of things.

Fluctuation

In every culture, we are trained by various methods to remain firm and steadfast, keeping the faith. For if we waver this way or that and lose our focus, we inevitably lose sight of our goals and good intentions. You must have a steady view of your hopes and aspirations before peering into this fluttering motion.

Invasion

We have long suspected that we have been visited by extraterrestrials. No longer is there need to doubt. Do your best to avoid abduction, and get home safely.

Key Link

These days, it seems there is a key for everything. This chain was designed to accommodate all your needs. The problem here is to find the right key for the right job.

Sweet Love

Love is the most powerful of all emotions. Love conquers all. Love is good for all. Let love guide you as you pass through this image of love's expression.

Fusion

We now live in an age when we can replicate the power of the sun. But to actually view the process requires this new observance platform. By the union of light, atomic nuclei form heavier nuclei resulting in the release of huge quantities of energy. Prepare a route through the dynamic repulsion of energy without being dissolved by the fervent heat.

Squirrelly

Squirrelly requires you to be uncharacteristically cunning. You will be rambling about in an unpredictable manner, scurrying here and there, trying to focus your attention while experiencing the delight of this natural, biological habitat.

New Generation

The production of any organized substance inevitably leads to the production of the next generation of things. Along with the New Generation of things, comes a new thought atmosphere.

New Wave

Fads come and go. But a New Wave prompts a paradigm shift.

Octi-Maze

Octomaze is a subterranean search for a portal to the center of the earth.

Outback

Circumstances at times leave us disoriented and confused. Outback reminds us of just how vulnerable we are.

Planetarium

Stricken by the influence of our planets revolving around the sun, you must carefully chart a course to the outer region. In space, there are various heavenly bodies adrift that must be avoided. No one who is faint of heart should attempt this dangerous journey.

Quasi

Emerging out of the chaos of rivalry, differences often lead to great solutions. Our great societies were born from this evolutionary process. And since that time, man has tried to equate their accomplishments. Introducing Quasi, the great equalizer of human affairs.

Legend

As far back as recorded time, people have practiced the art of narrating the tales of extraordinary people and events. Without proof to confirm the stories' authenticity, we refer to them as legends. Archeologists dug this image from the floor of a cave and it is thought to be the first maze ever invented by man. Is it myth or Legend?

Maze Flakes

As science begins to understand precipitation anomalies, occasionally they happen upon undiscovered events. Maze Flakes presents us all with the opportunity to hypothesize the atmospheric conditions that form these ominous formations. These formations can serve as a sign of which way to follow. Be it good or bad.

Mind Set

Today, I chanced upon a thought. When an evolving thing took place. As I gazed upon this progressive manifestation, I witnessed the unveiling of a long forgotten knowledge. I peruse the possibilities with wonder. I contemplate what seems like ineffable outcomes to the end that will involve you in this purposeful event called Mind Set.

Seaweed

We seldom see the extraordinary beauty that lies beneath the ocean surface. Seaweed offers scenery unlike that of anything else in nature; but be warned, it is easy to get lost in these towering plumes.

Shadow Man

Out of the corner of your eye, you happen to glimpse a passing apparition. Unknown until only recently are the Shadow People. Caught on high-speed film is the first image ever seen of a Shadow Man.

Sighting System

Reverse engineering from alien technology, the new Sighting System allows us to see in the dark, see through walls, and into interdimensional regions. Badness no longer has a hiding place.

Sign Language

Long before man spoke fluent words, cavemen communicated by means of signs and symbols. When preparing for the hunt, they would stab at their drawings on the cave walls. You may find yourself equally invigorated by this mysterious curiosity.

Skyscraper

Be careful not to get disoriented as you look over the roofline of this Skyscraper. Using safety gear, climb down from the top using whatever advantage you can.

Spaceport

Construction on the new Spaceport is now complete. New arrivals must find their way to their quarters and the command center. The best way is to use the control panels. Security details will keep you out of unauthorized areas.

Square Linked

That which is causing confusion is our own conscious thought. If you want to conquer Square Linked, you need to adjust your thought atmosphere. Defeat can't be an option!

Phenomenon

To those who have achieved the greatest level of cognation and enlightenment, comprehending the infinite remains only partial. Our perception of time reality will always be only relatively understandable. As our minds seek to grasp the infinite, the laws of nature present us with observable facts. Use the outward signs to guide your senses through this newly perceived Phenomenon.

Goulee

As man penetrates deeper into the uninhabited areas of the world, a stirring array of creatures gaze back upon us. As the sun goes down, you may be surprised what is creeping upon you. You must raise your level of conscious awareness, to catalog these strange creatures that are astir in the night.

Tight

Confined as it were, and constricted beyond your comfort level, you will effervesce with enthusiasm as you emerge victorious. But if you're inclined toward claustrophobia, just forget you saw this maze.

Tortuous

Avoid the pain and mental suffering-it is unbearable to enter this domain. The rabbit hole goes entirely too deep to maintain your sanity. Turn back now!

Triangulate

When you condition the position of your mind on any matter, the thing you desire no longer remains inconspicuous. Don't let what you can't do interfere with what you can do. This challenge can be met. You can do it.

Tumultuous

Commotion that is attended to by excitement can leave us bewildered. Tumultuous defies your understanding of this ineffable environment. Only the select few should brave it.

Red Rain

Scientists have been baffled by this red, multicellular substance that has rained down in a remote part of the earth. It has been suggested that a rough comet deposited this extraterrestrial fluid as a natural accumulation that has been occurring since the beginning of time.

Wicker

Since the beginning of recorded history, mankind has been weaving wicker into an endless spectrum of necessities. You have nothing so grand to achieve. Just follow the wicker-weaved road.

Wormhole

Science now assures us that these superaccelerators exist. Here's your chance to fly through one in hyperspace. You might want to engage your shielding.
