This is a personal story of a boy from a small town in Illinois who manages to be the first person in his family to attend college (Northwestern), earn an officer's commission in the Navy, go on to be a tv news reporter in Tucson, Arizona, become a film script writer, then public relations executive first for a small California firm, then MGM, and later for several of Hollywood's top PR agencies, eventually forming his own firm, capping his career with nearly 35 years working for the Hyatt Foundation on their Pritzker Architecture Prize. All this, or most of it, in the closet, while in a sixty year relationship with another man.
