Overview

As Pastor, John Chastain “laid aside” time weekly to write a devotional for his church. Some involved current events, some were about family – but all were from his heart. He always said, “It just came to me. I didn’t write it. I just copied it down.”
Now as a Retired Pastor, it is John Chastain’s deepest desire to reach as many people as possible with God’s Word.
Each of these devotionals individually “stand” on their own, making it a desirable read for today’s “hurry up” lifestyles.

About the Author

I was led to The Lord Jesus, January 19, 1993, about three pm. Bro Tom Huntress, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Palestine, Texas, led both my wife and I the same hour.
On June 27, 1997, I preached my “first message” at a Nursing Home in Palestine. I eventually felt the call by God into The Pastorate. I was ordained on April 28, 2002, and preached my first Message as Pastor at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Benton, Arkansas, on May 1, 2002.
Five years later, I was called to Fundamental Baptist Church, in Wellington, Texas. I began writing devotions for the Sunday bulletins while in Arkansas, and continued when we moved to Texas.
I retired from The Pastorate on September 27, 2012. As a retired Pastor, I still enjoy writing, and have found much peace following God’s lead in my studies.
