Overview

In a world obscured by the shadows of neglect and trauma, a young boy navigates life with an innate sense of wonder and a profound imagination. Growing up with young, inexperienced parents—his father a tough drug dealer and a constant partier, and his mother a very young, selfless woman burdened with a traumatic brain injury that renders her antisocial—his childhood is marked by anxiety, trauma, and depression.

Despite the chaos and darkness, the boy finds solace in the small wonders of his surroundings. His vivid imagination becomes his refuge, transforming everyday moments into adventures of discovery. His brothers, neighborhood friends, and grandparents provide a contrasting glimpse into a happier, more beautiful side of life, showing him moments of innocence and joy that he clings to amidst the turmoil.
