A History in Blood
Sometimes being a vampire isnt all its cracked up to be. Julian Brownell, a two thousand-year-old vampire, is learning that the hard way. The depression and divorce in his banal, pretend-human life was bad enough. But when he decides to burst back onto the vampire scene, things go from bad to worse as he finds himself firmly in the sights of the deadliest vampire hunter of all time.

A History in Blood depicts a world where vampire culture and politics reside peacefully beside the world above ground, a world where vampires dont adhere to the erroneous traditional lore. Stakes to the heart cannot kill themonly fire or decapitation. Although popular opinion suggests that garlic and sunlight are fatal to them, in truth, these are more like allergies that affect them to varying degrees. Against this backdrop, and with a healthy dose of humor, the story follows Titus Acilius (aka Julian Brownell, aka Christian Beauparlant, aka Texas Jack, aka any number of alternate identities) on his journey to protect the people he loves from harm even as he searches for the answers to his ancient-life crisis.

About the Author

Christopher DeFazio, a product of Quincy, Massachusetts, is a career ER physician, an amateur history buff, a dog-lover, and avid traveler, and a hack golfer. When hes not stitching up wounds or writing books, he also teaches Physician Assistant students from Northeastern University. He is a credited editor of the Manual of Emergency Medicine, editions four through six and counting. He collected his BA in biology and his MD at Boston University. He is happily married to Sheri Edsall and embarrassingly proud of his three children, Laura, Liam, and Elise.

Inspired by authors like Stephen King, Frank Herbert and Anthony Everitt, Chris writes to entertain his readers and immerse them in his stories via macabre circumstances and a twinge of historical flair. A History in Blood is the first in a planned series of novels revolving around the colorful life of Titus Acilius, the Roman legionary turned modern-day vampire.
