Whether you are seasoned or a novice, it is my hope that you will find inspiration in your hiking experiences, as have I. For ten years I traversed a local trail, Mount Major, in Alton Bay, New Hampshire. In the end, I reached the summit more than a thousand times and each hike was unique.
My experience inspired me to write my hiking memoir, My Mountain Friend, which was published in 2022. This trail was safe, nearby, and beautiful. I was never disappointed, and hiked year round in all kinds of weather.
In this hiking journal, I will share with you some of my observations and meditative hiking techniques. Keeping a hiking journal will remind you of the experience later on. Like a dream, I found the hike would fade over time, unless I recorded my thoughts and events right away.
