About the Author

Jodi Gill started her teaching career in 1995. In 2005, she served as an international director for a private school in the Portland, Oregon area. In the past 16 years, she has directed and supported school administrators with international program development.

In 2016, she founded GiDE USA, a company that advises in international program development and establishes Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) partnerships between US and foreign schools. Her current focus is developing educational programs between the USA and South Korea, China and Japan.

Notable projects include a 2019 English camp located in Suji, Gumi and Ulsan, South Korea. This camp served more than 250 Korean 112 children led by 20 American teachers. In 2020 due to COVID-19 and limitations on travel, she and Korean school leader Johan Kim developed a mentor program named KOREDOOR. This connects Korean students to American teachers via weekly video meetings.

As a side note, the 2020 year gave her the opportunity to connect with the large community of Korean adoptees. During this year, she founded a non-profit named The Adoptee Group with a number of Korean adoptees who are dedicated to wellness in a community that struggles with mental health conditions. She authored her first book A Handbook to Korea: For Your Next Trip Back for adoptees who plan to make their first trip to Korea and meet their birth family.

Jodi has been married for almost 26 years. Together they have three daughters and a dog named Roxy. She enjoys ethnic foods, hiking and negotiating for goods in the foreign street markets. She is the owner of Gide USA and the founder of The Adoptee Group.
