About the Author

John S. Mogabgab, special projects editor at Upper Room Books, is the founding editor of Weavings: A Journal of the Christian Spiritual Life. From 1975 to 1980 John served as Henri Nouwen's teaching, research, and editorial assistant at Yale Divinity School.
Rueben P. Job, a retired United Methodist bishop, is one of the outstanding leaders in spiritual formation within the church. He is the coauthor (with Norman Shawchuck) of A Guide to Prayer for Ministers and Other Servants and other books in the "Guide to Prayer" series. Job is the author of numerous books, including Three Simple Rules and Three Simple Questions.
Norman Shawchuck (1935""2012) was a United Methodist pastor who received a special appointment that allowed him to teach, write, and consult. He was adjunct professor at numerous universiies and seminiaries, including McCormick Theological Seminary and Trinity Evangelical Divinitiy School. He also served as full-time professor at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California. The author of numerous books, Dr. Shawchuck coauthored with Rueben Job A Guide to Prayer for Ministers and Other Servants and other books in the "Guide to Prayer" series.
