About the Author

Born in Totnes in the English county of Cornwall, Bernard Trevelyan began his working life as a fisherman, taking up a variety of esoteric card games common to the region to pass the hours between catches. Having taught dozens of fellow net haulers the card games received from his grandmother, it was decided within his cottage one night to compile a selection of treasures both well-known and forgotten.

When not tutoring the younger generation in the art of recreational angling, Bernard enjoys coast walks wherein he feeds seagulls and admires the multitude of attractive views offered by his locality.
