Overview

What would you say if someone asked you why the world was worth saving? What if you didn’t really care? This is the problem that young Horatio is facing when a visit to his local aquarium goes in an unexpected direction. Inspired by a Chinese legend, “A Fish in the Mirror” is a humorous yet thoughtful exploration of human nature through scenes of everyday banality and of not-so-everyday crisis. Like the finest magic realism, the fantastical premise of the story lends a charm and dynamism that in no way reduces the relevance of the observations it presents, making this title an essential reading for anyone looking for a thrill, an escape, or an inspiration.

About the Author

Joshua Baldwin aspires to write stories as colourful as his childhood. Born in Ireland in the middle of one of the most difficult periods in that country’s history, Joshua moved to Ethiopia at the age of five and spent the next 11 years eating poisonous berries, chasing monkeys out of his garden, and daydreaming. Back in the United Kingdom, he wrote prolifically for creative student publications at the University of Oxford (where he studied Archaeology), and has since moved into the exciting word of freelance and blogging. The fact that making stories up is a real career is something he finds as desirable as it is amazing.
