About the Author

Lorana Hoopes is the USA Today best-selling author of over forty books and counting. She's originally from Texas which shows as most of her books are set in the great state. As the saying goes, "You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can't take Texas out of the girl."

Lorana began writing at an early age, but it wasn't until a few years ago that she began publishing. Now, it seems she can't get the stories out fast enough. In addition to writing, she also records and produces her own audiobooks as well as audiobooks for other clean authors. Her background in theater and as a radio DJ certainly help in that area.

Though she hopes to retire soon and write full time, Lorana is still a part-time English teacher as well as a full-time mom. She has three children who are the characters in her Wishing Stone early reader chapter books and voice their parts in the audiobooks 2-5.

This is a Christian themed story. Carter is the last of the group still single and he's loving the single life and taking every advantage of it, much to the chagrin of his friends. He gave up on God when his mother left years before. April also has given up on God as she grew up with an abusive dad, if only her friends would get the memo and quit trying to talk religion. It's a little grittier than many of her books. It's dealing with real situations and real consequences for choices.

I love how God took two people, Carter and April, who were leading superficial lives, got their attention and showed them how much joy and happiness could be theirs. I have enjoyed every book in this series. I hate to see it end, but I sense a spin off series may be coming. I enjoyed reading April's and Carter's journey to God and to each other. This well written book would not let me put it down.
