Chapter One
Hi my name is Christian. Today I am very excited because I am spending the day with Nona. Nona is my grandma. I woke up early this morning, got dressed, ate my breakfast, brushed my teeth and waited for Nona to pick me up.
When Nona arrived she told me we were going to a big park with a big lake. I sat in the back seat of her car with my seatbelt on. Nona is proud of me. She says I am becoming a big boy because I can put my seatbelt on all by myself. While driving to this big park I am getting more and more excited!
Nona said it will take twenty minutes to get there but it feels like forever.
When we finally get there we parked the car. I could not believe what I saw! There it was a BIG, HUGE, SUPER-DUPER lake! The best part is a path that we could walk around the lake.
So Nona held my hand and said, "okay Christian, now the fun begins!" We passed a lot of interesting things along the way. At first I noticed the tall trees with different colored leaves. Some of the leaves fell to the ground and when I walked on them they made crunchy noises.
I saw fish jumping out of the water and a man fishing from a rowboat. When I go home I am going to ask my dad to take me fishing. Maybe we can come here to this lake and fish from a rowboat too.
