Brian Morton began writing in 1989
He jointly formed Billingham Writers and was elected Chairman.
During the "Writearound" period Brian won prizes for "The Shelter on Redcar Stray", "Steers" an article on Staithes,"Wriggling" and "Cordon Bleu".
Joined Redcar Writers 1993 Elected Chairman 1995
1996 Mudfog published "Preambles" a collection of poetry.
With Redcar Writers Brian published the anthologies:
"Primordial Soup" "Beachcombings" and "On Redcar Rocks"
Tutored Creative Writing course in Redcar Library on behalf of Leeds University from 1993 to 1996
Won first prize in Northern Echo 2003 with "Tom Hunter" a poem about a Falklands war veteran.
Brian is regularly seen in performance at "The Write Room".
