What happened so long ago that you never returned?
Where are the promises that we made, did they not mean anything, did they not touch the heart and turn the dreams we had into something real?
And what about love, where had it gone what had become of the boy who walked the beaches looking for you and you the girl of my heart, there standing, there waiting only to turn and walk away when the tide came ashore.
The years have been long, yes long, what did you make of your life? When you went away you took my hopes with you, you'd tossed them aside, as if I never worried about you. And I did worry, but that was long ago, and you were so far away.
