Overview

Over seven thousand years ago, Earth built four huge starships in orbit, using a large quantity of robot
labor. After identifying several remote worlds known to have surface water and atmospheric oxygen, four
groups found people willing to travel to set up colonies.
The colonial expeditions were named Alpha, Beta, Delta, and Gamma, for want of imagination.
According to the plan, after five years, additional starships would be dispatched, carrying supplies
and additional prospective colonists. However, a devastating nuclear war and finances intervened.
The follow-up vessels were never sent. The colonies survived but had no contact with Earth.
The humans of Alpha Colony terraformed one of the two large continents. However, mutations allowed
a small percentage of them to develop what most would call magic powers, making them dominant in
the population. Each colony evolved a civilization differing from the others.
In four short novels, this work follows Eller, a powerful wizard from Alpha, as he explores Earth's civilization
after seven thousand years of evolution, as well as each of the four unique colonies. He makes changes as he goes. None of them are quite the same after his visit.
