A Collection of Important American Thought Part One: Approximately Sixteen Pages of Trivial Writings From an Obscure Writer
This is the first and last volume in a series intended to chronicle turn-of-the-century (the switch from the 1900s to the 2000s, not the switch from the 1800s to the 1900s when men wore hats all of the time and sat astride bicycles with hilariously huge front wheels) thought from important thinkers and writers of our time. Unfortunately, we could not get any of the important thinkers or writers to contribute to our series, so we are left with the short (very short) missives of a middle-aged malcontent from Indiana.

We are presenting this volume in the hopes of recouping some of the expenses associated with the planning and production of what we initially thought would be a fine series of books that any reader would be proud to have on his or her bookshelf. While we may not have reached our lofty goal, we have produced a book that can be read by the literate amongst us, and that is important in and of itself.

About the Author

John Pierce has a degree in English which is particularly astounding since he is not proficient in the language. He was raised by two lovely people in the center of Indiana, primarily in a house built on a plot of land that used to be a soybean field. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, is married to a wonderful woman, has two children that he adores, and is seemingly content to allow just about anything he writes to be published.
