A Christian Musical - A Fresh Start at the Sunrise Laundromat - Musical and Non-Musical
A Fresh Start at the Sunrise Laundromat, written by Gregory J. Lavelle, an attorney from North Olmsted, Ohio and Mattew Skitzki, a professional pianist from Cleveland, Ohio, is a Christian play which has two versions, musical and non-musical. Each play is designed to be produced on a very low budget with low royalties, no complicated set or set changes and no expensive costuming, sound, lighting and/or props. The story takes place in and about the Sunrise Laundromat where Bob, a former banker who has lost everything, meets Emily a young woman with a secret. At the Laundromat is Wendel, an obviously crazy (Well, maybe not) homeless man who believes that the unmatched socks he has "captured" are aliens from the planet Scruitol. (No, it is pronounced, Screw-ih-toll, with a long "o") who will appoint him Emperor of the planet to solve all of the world's problems. Wendel explains his fixes and indicates that he is sure that they will work since his alien friends TIVO'd it and saw the success. (They fast-forward through time, of course, Time Velocity Optimization (TiVO).
