About the Author

Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, Bill was shot in the neck and permanently paralyzed as a seventeen-year-old in 1989. From there, he set out on a path of endurance and perseverance. He earned a BA and MS in journalism from the University of Illinois. He was a three-time member of Team USA wheelchair rugby, winning gold in the 1996 Atlanta Paralympics, the 1998 World Championships in Toronto, and the 2000 Sydney Paralympics. Since 2002, Bill has been an award-winning commercial real estate broker in the Tampa Bay area. With Amy, his lovely wife since 2001, and their three children, Bill lives in Wesley Chapel, Florida. He and Amy have been actively-involved members of Idlewild Baptist Church for over a decade.
