This choreopoem which presents four archetypes of modern day women who struggle with their relationships and self-worth opens with and continues the refrain "Don't you hear me? Can't you hear me? I want to be free! I want to be free!" This idea of being heard and desiring freedom is still prevalent for many women despite our current progressive accomplishments. The play offers women the opportunity through story-telling to connect to and journey with those on stage while they grapple with issues of anger, fear, brokenness, identity and despair. The message that this playwright seeks to present is one of hope and determination to rise above despite the negative and/or heartbreaking experiences that we all have faced in this life.
