About the Author

Albert Shiplee was born in Bootle, Lancashire, during the early thirties. He won a scholarship to Bootle Grammar School and when he was twenty-one served a period of service for three years in the RAF. Being sports-minded, he represented his station at football and athletics. He also became a member of RAF Dishforth Military Band who were Transport Command Champions in 1954. He now resides in Whiston with his wife. His main hobby is writing poetry, the occasional short story and photography.
