About the Author

When the authors started buying a few thimbles 25 years ago little did they realize their collection would grow into thousands. After retirement their consulting business took them to all 50 states and much of Canada, which allowed for hundreds of enjoyable hours together searching for those “little treasures and pieces of art.” They are not dealers. Instead, they admit they purchase thimbles for the same reason that many people acquire fine art, classic cars, wine or coins. It brings them pleasure. They decided to write a book and share their extensive knowledge of thimbles to encourage more people to collect them and to help the novice collector avoid the pitfalls of “paying too much” for their purchases. In their book they share both what they did well along with how a beginning collector can avoid many of the mistakes they could have avoided when they first started their collection.
