About the Author

Dennis Darovich has been an avid Plymouth race track fan since 1965. He acquired the chartered property and casualty (CPCU) insurance designation in 1982. He earned a master’s degree in business organizational behavior in 1994. Since authoring the book “Racing Past Memories (RPM)” in 2000, Dennis published a revised color photography edition of “RPM” in 2020. Dennis notably located the undoctored Mary Moorman photograph of the John F. Kennedy assassination in 1983. Dennis is also known for being the Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car Association historian.

George Baumann is the announcer and historian for Plymouth Dirt Track Racing (PDTR) in Plymouth, Wis. He has been involved in racing for nearly 30 years. His announcing has taken him to at least a dozen tracks to announce races. George was involved in the formation of the Midwest Sprint Car Association (MSA) and still announces many MSA races. George spent four years in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman, which included a year in Vietnam treating wounded marines. After returning to school, George started a broadcasting career that saw him announce thousands of sporting events. He is a member of the Wisconsin Hockey Hall of Fame in Eagle River. George served as the owner of radio stations in Fond du Lac and Waupun. He was also the marketing officer for National Exchange Bank and Trust for nearly 20 years.
